5.14: I used the shanbei app for a month and memorized most of the words. I used to think that I was a person who could not remember words anyway, and I did not memorize words deliberately since childhood. However, after this ordeal with the shanbei app, I opened the gre word book and practice questions two weeks before the test and found that the words were all familiar. I was immediately motivated to continue. So far, though, the words are only familiar.
5.22: I haven't studied for over a week. Let's start today.
5.27: I have finished the exam today and get good grades: 150(Verbal)+170(Quantitative). I will summarize all the things I did to prepare for the gre test.
- Words: After the TOEFL test, I used the New Oriental memorizing app to memorize the words again, the effect was very poor. One month before the exam, I memorized the words with the shanbei word app, which had a good effect. I was somewhat familiar with all the words after reading them, even though I still couldn't remember the meaning after seeing the words.
- Verbal: I did exercises in the website. The correct rate is 96/201 and 6/12, respectively represent fill-in-the-blank and reading questions. It took me 237 minutes.
- Quantitative: Because I am a math major, I did not prepare for this part of the exam. The correct rate is 35/40, which means I did two sections of quantitative exercises. Actually I did them yesterday.
- AW: I was completely unprepared and just started reading the questions in the exam room. The first part is similar to the TOEFL essay. The second part is like picking holes in ideas.
