关于期刊缩写
一般来说期刊名称会有两种缩写，一种是JCR缩写，一种是ISO缩写。根据投稿期刊的投稿要求选用。例如GCA的投稿要求：

Journal Citation Reports Web of science 旗下的产品。可以查找期刊的任何信息，也包括了ISO缩写和JCR缩写。虽然Web of science用起来怪卡的， 但和下面其他渠道比起来，国内进这个数据库反而是最快的。不过需要学校采购这个数据库。

在Endnote中管理并使用期刊缩写
在引用时，如果选择好了期刊的引文模版，Endnote 就会自动地使用期刊的相应缩写。不过需要提前告诉Endnote 期刊对应的缩写是什么，它目前还不能自动上网查找缩写。
在Endnote 的菜单中依次点击Tools -> Term List -> Journals term list进入管理工具。
点击List -> Import List 可以导入已经编辑好的List，Endnote中内置了一些期刊的缩写库，放在其安装目录-> Terms文件夹下。可以根据需要自行导入。
如需编辑Term List，则点击Terms-> New Term 或选中特定Term 后点击 Edit Term 来编辑。其中一般将Abbreviate1 设置为iso缩写，而Abbreviate1 设置为JCR 缩写。
Endnote 的 Term List 中期刊名称不会区分大小写，添加Terms 的时候不会检查是否重复。但当遇到有重复项目时，又会导致替换失败。当新的引文添加进来时，如果如果期刊名称不在Terms 中，Endnote 会自动在Terms 中加入一条项目，但缩写会被设置成空。所以维护一个统一的Term List 会很麻烦，建议在文章写作完成后，统一核对参考文献时，再依次填写Terms.

我们可以通过Endnote等软件帮助我们管理引文，但它毕竟是一个不那么智能的工具，在文章写作的后期，我们还是需要人工核对每一篇引文的信息，以对自己的工作与读者负责。
